Sex Is Like a Drug, Says Pope Benedict

Pope Benedict XVI acknowledged Saturday that the Vatican’s teaching against birth control was difficult as he praised a 1968 Church document that condemned contraception.

In a speech marking the 40th anniversary of the document, Benedict reiterated the Church’s ban against artificial birth control as well as more recent teaching against using artificial procreation methods.

Love is the drug I’m thinkin’ of…

He should know. The church was in denial about it’s pedophile priests for decades.

Hypersexuality - which I assume he’s talking about - is a real and serious condition and has nothing to do with “addiction” — ass-hat.

Something about using it for their “masses”? Body and blood of christ and all that jazz . . . .

Just speaking as a recovering catholic here . . .

I can’t wait for his weekly advice column in The Villager.

I bet he prefers missionary.

Or pounding nail.

Late that night I park my car
Stake my place in the singles bar
Face to face, toe to toe
Heart to heart as we hit the floor
Lumber up, limbo down
The locked embrace, the stumble round
I say go, she say yes
Dim the lights, you can guess the rest
Oh oh catch that buzz
Love is the drug i?m thinking of

Then the whole world is Drug Addict!

If Church wouldn’t ban Birth Control and Abortion, some people wouldn’t be able to bring Monsters into this world!
Coming from an asexual being this is meaningless.

Close the papal doors and throw away the keys. They had their chance and blew it, innumerable times.

If he equates sexual relations to drugs addiction it kinda explains why he is celibate, and why we shouldn’t trust his judgement.

“Sex is like a drug”, kinda habit forming. Like breathing and eating. What a foolish old man.

Of course he’s says nothing about religious addiction. As anything can become an addiction, it’s the addiction and not the sex.

How would the Church define or what parameter’s are part of the religious addiction. What is the difference between a Catholic who is addicted and one who is not?

This Pope is being a good politician. He sees how religion has become the latest fad in America, so he is jumping in front of the crowd and leading the way. Religion is everywhere on tee shirts, bumper stickers, people carrying bibles, people asking if you have been saved… you would think there would be more in their hearts as well… but why do it when you can stick it to your bumper.

This Pope was an extremist when he was young and so he still has his extreme bath tub but now he has a new baby with holy water in it.

Has the Pope ever had sexual contact except with acolytes?

Finally, a quote from this pontificating gasbag (albeit out of context) that I can agree with him on . “Sex is like a drug”? You can say that again. And may I never recover from the addiction.

The Pope is right. Sex can become like a drug, and so can twisted cults like the Hitler Youth. The Pope should know about that one from his Bavarian Short Pants childhood.

Blessed are those that oppose birth control for they shall inherit the earth.

The image of the kindly local priest who helps the families and children in his parish has been shown to be largely a false image, at least in the United States. Thousands of sex molesters posing as priests is a pretty good indication that there is something amiss in Rome.

- Thomas Jefferson

Brilliant deduction, Pope! Is it a sin for the Pope to rub one out? Seriously. I’ve always wondered how they deal with wet dreams.
